Dr. :\IcGettigan takes an active interest in all forms of healthysport and athletics, and has a reputation as a marksman and trapshooter of no mean ability. He is a member of the Family Club,Olvmpic Club and Press Club. Dr. McGettigan was married in1902 to Aliss Francesca Vallejo, granddaughter of General Vallejo,historic commandant of early California days, and they have fivechildren. ^. All of the structural parts of San Franciscos municipal railwaycars up to the window sills are of steel and so formed as to givethe extreme rigidity with a minimum weight. The constructionabove the window-sill line is of the finest grade of California roof is notable in that no inner lining is provided, the roofboards being of white cedar, purchased in San Francisco by the carbuihlers and shipped east to the factory. On account of the rapidly-increasing traffic congestion in IMarketstreet, the citys principal commercial artery, it is generally concededthat the time is not far distant when a rapid transit subway willbe necessary under this thoroughfare. The elevation, location anddesign of the Twin Peaks tunnel have been planned with this inview, and will permit the continuation of the tunnel as a subwaywith Imt slight alterations. For the present the tunnel cars willconnect with surface tracks in Market street at Seventeenth street
