Thus an apricot is said to have been worked on a green- gage plum, and a quince upon the au- tumn bergamot pear; the apricot be- came as juicy as the green-gage, and far more delicate ; the quince was much more tender, and less gritty. S. hmnorrhous, small Bark Beetle, at- tacks apple trees in May, making fur- rows into the inner bark and alburnum, where it deposits its eggs.
