The Wales Coastal Path in North Wales. View from the Wales Coast Path of fishing boats moored in a small inlet on the River Dee Estuary, near Bagillt. The Wales Coast Path was developed in partnership with the Welsh Government, the Countryside Council for Wales, sixteen local authorities and two National Parks. Opened in May 2012, the 870 mile path (1,400 km) runs from the market town of Chepstow to the Cheshire border on the River Dee.
