Of the? â â there are Bhick iiiid vVhite varieties, the former being much the more numerous. Tliese are large handsome birds, though not within two pounds of being as heavy as tlie Light Brahmas. They make excclh^nt table birds, growing rapidly, and have a white flesh. The hens are fairly good layers of very large, rich brown eggs. (3) Cochins. This is another heavy brsed, almost equalling the Bi'ahmas, to which they are very similar. They aie fair layers, of large dark-brown eggs. Of the Cochin there are four sub-varieties, viz.: The Buff, Partridge, White, and Black. %.
