The equipment has been maintained ata high degree of efficiency, and the im-jirovemcnts have been continuous andlarge augmentations to the equipment willlie made in the near future. The prin-cipal repair shops are located at Spring-field, Mo., and since their original con-struction in 1872 have been greatly addedto from time to lime. In keeping withthe general trend of better instructionfor apprentices the class rooms at thenorth shops seemed to us lo be furnishedwith every appliance necessary for the es-tablishment, while the accomplished ap-prentice instructor.
