A North Italian campaign sword,circa 1600. Heavy,single-edged blade with a double-edged point and double fullers on both sides. Star shaped marks and a heavily rubbed inscription on one face. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with long quillons and guard rings on both sides,small languet on the obverse. Ends of the knuckle-bows chiselled in the shape of small hands. Moulded grip with iron wire wrapping and Turk's heads. Heavy ten-sided pommel.
