Brig. Gen. Stephen Osborn of the Iowa National Guard presents a flag to Mrs. Cindy Brey of Cushing Minn. at the funeral service of her uncle, Army Cpl. Eldert J. Beek on June 14, 2021. Beek was a member of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division when he was killed in action during the Korean War on December 1, 1950. Beek’s remains were recently recovered and positively Identified 70 years after his death. He was laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery in George, Iowa.
