The largest heading Lettuce we have ever seen, having been grown to six pounds in weight; the average size, however, with ordinary culture, is from two to three pounds. The heart is very solid, of pale green color, very tender, very crisp, and without the slightest trace of the bitterness found in the majority of Lettuce. As an example of its "standing ' properties, per- fect Lettuces were cut from the same bed for up- wards of seven weeks during the past hot and dry season. Price, 1-4 oz. pkt., 5 cts.; oz. 15 cents. CRiSP-AS-ICE LETTUCE. A beautiful new Lettuce of the Cabbage type. The solid heads are of immense size, and so brittle and tender as to account for the name bestowed upon the variety. The leaves are thick and glossy and somewhat curled, of a green color, variegat- ed bronze. The heads have a rich creamy-yellow heart.
