Composite James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) image of two relatively new stars (centre of red spikes of light), known as Herbing-Haro 46/47 (HH 46/47), forming. The stars are surrounded by a disk of gas and dust (orange) which gradually add to their mass. HH 46/47 is located in the constellation of Vela and is around 1,140 light years from Earth. These stars are only a few thousand years old; most star take millions of years to fully form. Image captured by the JWST's Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam).
