Glacier Crest, Lake Marionand Observation Point are among the shorter andeasier ascents. Mount Abbot is a days climb, butnot a difficult one. From its summit an excep-tionally fine view is obtained of the Asulkan trails also lead up to the summits of EaglePeak and Mount Avalanche. The ascent of MountSir Donald is more difficult, but with the assistanceof experienced guides may readily be accomplished. 21. An excellent trail leads to the Asulkan Glacier, throughscenes of Alpine splendor, and the recently discoveredCaves of Nakimu are only distant about seven milesfrom Glacier House, by a good bridle path. These wonderful caverns havebeen formed by the actionof water for ages uponthe solid rock and form aseries of chambers withlarge entrances, polishedrock ceilings, and wallswhich sparkle with quartzcrystals and reflect myriadsof miniature lights fromthe darkness.
