Parrotfish collected by Darwin. Museum specimen in a preservation jar of a parrotfish (Pseudoscarus lepidus) from Tahiti. This specimen was collected by the British naturalist Charles Darwin during his voyage on HMS Beagle (1831-1836). The Beagle arrived in Tahiti on 15 November 1835. It was this voyage that prompted Darwin's work on his theory of evolution. This specimen is part of the collections held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
