Giulio Alberoni (1664-1752). Italian diplomat, statesman and cardinal of the Catholic Church. Appointed official representative of the Duke of Parma in April 1713. He was the principal adviser to King Philip V of Spain. On 5 December 1719, Philip V ordered his secretary, Miguel Fernandez de Durán, Marquis of Tolosa, notify Alberoni of the decree dispensing with his services and ordering his departure from Spain within a maximum of three weeks.
