Editorial use only. Christiansborg Palace is the seat of the Danish Government and the parliament - folketinget. This is the fourth palace on the site built 1907 to 1928 in a neo baroque style. The tower at 106 metres is the tallest spire in Copenhagen. The first castle was built on the then island by Archbishop Absalon and completed in 1167. Absalon is considered to be the official founder of Copenhagen. The building houses the Dainsh parliament with 179 elected members.
