Black Wattle (Acacia Mearnsii) should not be confused with Blackwood (Acacia Melanoxylon). They are totally different species - with similar names.


Wattles can be quite confusing. Until it flowers Black Wattle looks very similar to Silver Wattle (Acacia Dealbata, then the flowers look similar to Blackwood (Acacia Melanoxylon)
