Having resigned hisgovernment position, he then entered the employ of the Union Bridge Company ofPennsylvania and was sent to Key West, Florida, where he was active in the execution ofvarious contracts for the company, remaining there for two years, when he resigned andcame to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1900, entering the engineering department of theDenver & Rio Grande Railroad. He completed the building of the designated railroad line and hiswork and excellent judgment attracted the attention of the officials of the Utah CopperCompany, who in 1907 approached him with a very liberal offer to become the chiefengineer of the company. He accepted the position and has since served in this veryresponsible and highly important capacity, having in charge the engineering projects ofthe largest copper mine of the world. He is also the chief engineer of the Bingham &Garfield Railroad. The same qualities which made his father a noted inventor andmanufacturer have been manifest in Harry C. Goodrich along other lines, placing himin a commanding position in the engineering profession. On the 24th of December, 1892, Mr. Goodrich was married to Miss Sarah C. Biemdieke,of Wisconsin, a daughter of
