Amongst exotic plants & trees, standing male figure drawing bow (R) as seated female figure holding a basket of flowers in right hand watches; 2 fishermen in water (L), also watching the scene, draw net filled with fish; birds in tree & flying in distance (BRD) picture-frame border with spiral acanthus leaves & guilloche band; acanthus agrafe in corners This panel is a variation on "les Pêcheurs", with a minute difference in the composition: the indigenous female figure holding the flower basket is aligned with that of the fisherman on the right hand-side in the water. In other examples, the composition remains the same, except for the female figure which shifted slightly to the right. There is a closely related tapestry (GCPA 0242181) mentioned below, in the Musée Jacquemart-André, Paris which was exhibited in "Les Fastes de la Tapisserie" from April 17 to June 17, 1984; in exhibit. cat.
