In 1900he was appointed chairman of the commission to revise and con-solidate the New Brunswick public statutes. He also draftedfor the Dominion Government tha Railway Act, 1903. whichprovides for the establishment of the present Board of RailwayCommissioners, and revises and consolidates the existing railwaylaw of Canada. He holds the honorary degree of Doctor ofLaws from Mount Allison College.
