Blue sky white clouds sunny portrait Freta Street at the Church of the Holy Spirit towards St Jack's Church, Warsaw, Poland

The Church of the Holy Spirit, left foreground, dates to the 14th century, when it was a wooden Gothic style church alongside a hospital. The baroque architecture church of today was built 1707-1717. In the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, the church and surrounding buildings were destroyed by the Germans. The church and surrounding buildings were rebuilt in 1956 to the same plan as before the war. St Jack's Church (Kosciol sw. Jacka), right mid-distance, was built 1603-1639 in the baroque style by the Dominicans. Used as an insurgent hospital during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, it was destroyed by the Germans and rebuilt 1947-1959. Portrait shot of people walking pavements and sitting at outside tables in front of roadside restaurants. Mostowa Street leads off downhill right foreground.
