Both species have evi- dently been influenced in color by similar environment. The new species is named for the collector. The type and allotype of Agonopteryx clarkei are presented to Mr. Clarke who is revising the genus . The type of Gelechia langei is in the U. S. National Museum since it is government property. The other types and allotypes have been placed in the California Academy of Sciences. Paratypes as far as possible distributed as usual and to Dr. J. A. Comstock for the Los An- geles Museum.
