Upon the grave of every U. and early settler were placed a wreath and Battle monument, the monument of Laura Secord, theAmerican memorial, Usshcrs pillar, Bishops tomb, andthe monument of the late James Wilson, C. E., Park Super-intendent, the first Secretary of Lundys Lane HistoricalSociety, were specially decorated with flowers, flags andwreaths, and flowers were also placed on very many privategraves by relatives and friends. (Staff Correspondence of The Globe) NIAGARA FALLS, Ont., July 25.—Under circum-stances of memorable local enthusiasm and inter-national concord, the one hundredth anniversaryof the Battle of Lundys Lane was celebrated here today bya crowd estimated at ten thousand persons. Thoughdesigned originally as a mere anniversary of the battle, theevent inevitably gained the aspect that is in everybodysmouth, and despite the scarcely suppressed protests ofseveral national enthusiasts, it became a rousing demon-stration in honor of the century of peace.
