It is two weeks earlier than Jvolb's Gem or Gypsy; of medium size, colored with light and dark green stripes alternately; flesh deep red, de- licious, sweet, very firm and crisp. An extra early melon of fine flavor and large size, qualities combined in no other watermelon. From seed sown the tenth day of M'ay, large ripe melons were picked the last week in July.
