A fine cased pair of percussion pistols, Gastinne Renette, Paris, circa 1850. No serial number. Darkly browned octagonal barrels with bright, twelve-groove rifled bores in 11 mm calibre. Barrel lengths cm. Total lengths cm. Machined on tops of barrels, the lock plates inscribed, "Fn par GASTINNE RENETTE A PARIS". The undersides of the barrels are numbered "1" and "2", respectively. Colour case-hardened lock plates, side plates, cocks, tangs, pommel plates, and screw heads, all display the finest vine engraving. Trigger guard has blue-black, high-gloss,
