A view of a natural lake of glacial origin called Maly Staw (The Small Pond) and Samotnia mountain shelter in Karkonosze National (The Krknose or Giant Mountains) are mountain ranges located in the north of the Czech Republic and the south-west of Poland. The Karkonosze are a unique example of the alpine landscape in the area and have been a nature reserve since 1933.
