Not only by making authentic surveys of the States geo-logical resources, conducted chiefly through the Oregon Bureau of Mines, but alsoby turning out competently trained men who appreciate Oregons opportunityin the field of mining and ceramics, and are able to lead the way in the intelligentexploitation of this field, the School of Mines is making splendid progress. 60.
