Graben is one of the most important streets in Vienna's first district, the city centre, quite close to the Stephansdom. It takes its name from the wall of one of the moats of the Roman encampment of Vindobona which was located there in ancient times. The major sight on the Graben is the Pestsäule, a baroque Plague Column.
