This appliance consists of an extrareservoir attached to the main reservoirwith a Y% pip®, with reducer to yg- ofan inch. This reducer is used so thatwhen the appliance is working it cannotdraw sufficient air from the main reser-voir to in any way retard the worldngof the air brakes. From the reservoirthere is Yi pipe leading to cab, whichruns into the back of the throttle, wherea Y% plunger valve is placed. Whenthe engineer shuts off engine, the throttlegoing against this small plunger haulsair from this reservoir in the furnace tothree small jets, located one on each sideof the firebox and one directly abovethe firebox.
