Forbes, Plymouth, Ind., says the season has been a record breaker for him, on garden seeds, corn, field seeds and seed potatoes, but also on vegetable plants. It looks now as though the Republican national convention at Chicago may hold over into the week set for the Seed Trade convention, in which event almost anything is likely to happen. A. Kruhm, formerly in charge of the catalogues and advertising of the Liv- ingston Seed Co., now is with the Mumm- Romer Co., Columbus, an advertising agency, in charge . ©f its horticultural department. .T. W. Ratekin, Shenandoah, la., plans to be in California during the week of the Seed Trade convention. He has just bought another farm near Shenandoah, the second purchased this spring, paying $300 per acre. The Farmers' Commercial Grain & Seed Co. has been incorporated at Rising Sun, O., with a capital of $15,000, by S. S. Shaw, William Myers, R. S. Ohler, C. G. Myers, John C. Bower, A. J. Day, W. H. Mann and M. B. Bowe. W. Atlee Burpee, of Philadelphia, and Hugh Dickson, of Belfast, Ireland, are visiting the California seed growing districts. June 1 they motored from San Francisco to Santa Cruz with Lester L. Morse, of C. C. Morse & Co., in the lat- ter's car.
