Geologist, Kilauea 2018


During the field observations on the morning of August 8, 2018, an HVO geologist collected a sample of pāhoehoe from the August 2 overflow of the fissure 8 channel. The geochemistry of erupted lava can help answer the question of what's happening inside the volcano.
