The Òplebes,Ó or freshmen, of the Class of 2010 worked together to climb to the top of the 21-foot obelisk covered in more than 200 pounds of lard. The goal is to replace the traditional ÒplebeÓ cover with a midshipmanÕs cover, symbolizing the successful completion of the midshipmenÕs freshman year.
