SILVERDALE, Wash. (Sept. 26, 2013) Rear Adm. Dietrich Kuhlmann, commander, Submarine Group 9, speaks to Sailors assigned to the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Maine (SSBN 741) during a Meritorious Unit Commendation presentation at the Marginal Wharf on Naval Base Kitsap Bangor. The Sailors assigned to USS Maine demonstrated sustained superior performance at sea across the spectrum of strategic submarine operations culminating in an unprecedented 349 days at-sea over a fourteen-month period.
