Considerable trenching was done alongthe shores of this island in 191!, which resulted in the tincoveriiig of several east-west quartz veins and isolated lenses of quartz. .<!ome of which carry visible one 2n-ft. section across a typical deposit there are 10 ])arallel quaitz veins, eachabout 2 inches wide, cross-cutting the green schist at a small angle. Many showingsof coarse gold and some feldspar were o])served in one of the blue quartz intervening schist at this particular place is quite green and comparativelvfree from jiyrite.
