These bands should be put on the trees immediately after you put on the cones, but put the bands on separate trees. By having the bands and cones in the same or- chard it will be handy for you to take care of both on the same trip. Cut the burlap in strips 12 inches wide and long enough to go around the tree. Fold over 4 inches which will permit an 8- inch flap to hang down the tree. Tie tightly so the worms will crawl down over the burlap and up under the same for protection and pupating.
