There have been some eight or ten cases in the Courts during the past yearwhere emplojers have been charged with cruelty to English lads whom they hadtaken into their service, and in each case the public condemnation was so pro-nounced as to have a decidedly educational effect upon any who might be likelyto ill treat children.
