Dead or dying trees in forests near the Murray River in the Murray Darling Basin area of Northern Victoria. Years of prolonged drought with its associated lack of rain in the basins catchments meant that little or no water flowed into natural creeks, swamps and watercourses along the length of both the Murray and Darling Rivers, resulting in significant losses of natural forrest areas.
