The veins entering the sinus venosus are the ducts of Cuvier, and the meatus venosus. The former are made up on each side by (1) the anterior cardinal vein, returning blood from the head, (2) the posterior cardinal vein returning blood from the veins of the Wolffian body, and the intersomitic veins, (3) the umbilical veins returning blood mainly from the body-.
