Norfolk (Sept. 28, 2017) - Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Ignacia Garciavega, from Los Angeles (left) and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jacob Tripple, from Greenville, South Carolina, stock the blood bank aboard the Military Sealift Command's hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) as it prepares to get underway for humanitarian operations in Puerto Rico. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the head federal agency in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
