InIJoston, however, coke is made and thegas is used as a by-product, and in Cleve-land, ()., and Chattanooga, Tenn., and otherindustrial centers coal is made into cokefor furnace and foundry use and the surplusgas is disposed of for illuminating and fuelpurposes.
