He was the great patriot pastor of others stood with him, but none before went from his own congregation into the UnionArmy one hundred and thirty men. Among these washis only living son, a graduate of Yale, and a physician,who enlisted as a surgeon and served with distinctionuntil the close of the war. He still lives in Montreal,and has never lost his interest in the old Oneof the last acts of Dr. Brainerd was to erect in theupper vestibule of the church the marble tablet bear-ing the names of the eigh
