2nd Lt. Adrian C. Duff captured a photograph of Chaplain White from the American Red Cross reading the burial service over multiple bodies in a large grave at American Red Cross Evacuation Hospital #114. The men in the grave had succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The photo was taken on October 8, 1918, in Fleury-sur-Aire, Meuse, France. It was not intended for public publication but solely for official use.
