His parents settled firstin Oregon and there he attended the country schoolsuntil the family moved into the Boise Valley. For atime he attended the grade schools, then coming toBoise City where he entered the high school, afterwhich he engaged in teaching in the public schoolsof Ada county. He thereafter entered the Universityof Idaho, at Moscow, at which institution he studiedfor three years.
