He came to Utahin 1848, went to California with hisfather who was called to San Bernar-dino, and there learned the Spanishlanguage. He was ordained an Elderby Pres. Brigham Young and sentwith Jacob Hamblin as interpreteramong the Indians, and spent 15 yearsamong the Red Men. He was ordaineda Seventy by Daniel H. Wells. Hedied Oct. 28, 1925, in SaflFord, Arizona. F., presidentof the Mexican Mission from 1882to 1883, was born Feb. 17, 1837, inEckhorst, Oldenburg, Germany, theson of Charles H. Wilcken and AnnaStoffer. He was baptized Aug. 31,1873, set apart for a mission to Mexi-co June 25, 1880, and returned May5, 1883. He died Sept. 30, 1886, in SaltLake Citv, Utah.
