In the opening year of the presentcentury the importance of Sampey,, such a course was brought to theattention of the Lesson Committeeby the Sunday-School Editorial Association, an organiza-tion representing the lesson writers of nearly all theSunday-school publishing houses in America. In re-sponse to the request of the Sunday-School EditorialAssociation, the International Lesson Committee, meet-ing in New York, April 17, 1901, appointed a sub-com-mittee to prepare a two-years course for advancedstudents, and to report at the next meeting.
