The Red Fort (Lal Qila) of Delhi is a reminder of the opulence of the Mughal Harem where ladies awaited their masters
The Red Fort (Lal Qila) of Delhi is an eloquent reminder of the opulence and glory of the Mughal Empire. Built by Shah Jehan (began in 1639, finished in 1648) it replaced Agra as the capital city of the Mughal Empire. In the Diwan-i-Khas made of marble, the inner hall for private audiences, are the words, "If there is a paradise on earth it is here, it is here". Also, close by here is The Harem, where the ladies purified in body and mind awaited their master.
