The Taichang Emperor (1582-1620), personal name Zhu Changluo and temple name Guangzong, was the 15th Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. His era name means 'Great Goodness' or 'Great Prosperity'. He was the eldest son of the Wanli Emperor and succeeded his father as emperor in 1620. However his reign came to an abrupt end less than one month after his coronation when he was found dead one morning in the palace following a bout of diarrhea.
