It was separated by him from the Linnean Tana-gers, a division possessing an immense variety and modification of charac-ters, and which now affords types for many genera. Very little appears tobe known of its habits, and we had no notes accompanying our specimen. The size is about that of the common Chaffinch. The forehead, cheeks,a broad streak over each eye, and a narrow collar upon the upper part ofthe breast, are black; the back and sides of the neck are bluish-grey, andthat colour is continued upwards in th
