ESTIMATING DEAD BIRD VOLUME Mortality on most farms run about 1% a month. These birds die because they are usually sick and unhealthy - not because of old age. Thus prompt and proper dead bird disposal is essential and a must on all poultry farms. With an average mortality of 1% a month, how many lbs. of dead birds a day do you have on your premises?
