Right behind the Palace of Saints' George and Michael), there is a beautiful garden, with an art gallery and also a nice cafe, where you can enjoy your coffee while watching the ships passing between Corfu and the islet of Vidos. There is also this staircase that leads to a tiny sandy beach. On the background you can see some of the buildings of the Old Fortress. This garden was once upon a time the favourite place for a walk for the "nobles" of Corfu. Since the "Libro d' Oro" was burnt, it is called "The people's garden".
