Other users of step lamps generallyhave placed the lamp over the doorway, but this canhardly be considered the best position as the lamp istoo far from the step. The Syracuse lines have there-fore installed the step lamp just where it will do themost good. The favored position is behind the , on those cars where no bumper room is avail-able, the lamp is installed behind the step. In either casethe light is much closer to the tread and pavement thanbefore.
