Bust of Magnus Dagestad, Dagestad Museum, Voss, Hordaland, Norway.

In the early twentieth century Magnus Dagestad set out to establish a national Norwegian identity in design and in particular furniture design and devised what is generally known as the "Dragon Style". Much of what is these days regarded as "traditional Norwegian" stems from the designs which were established during this period and Magnus Dagestad was a major influence. He established a school, now closed, which is just down the hill from the museum. The museum itself is located in the grounds of what once was his house and is maintained by his descendants.
