The cell in which Jose Rizal spent some of his time in Fort Santiago, Manila. He was imprisoned here before his trial on trumped up charges om Rebellion, sedition and the Formation of Illegal Societies. He was held until he was executed by them on 29 Dec 1896. He was shot in the back by a firing squad after being tried. He has since been revered by the people of the Philippines.
